Weekend in Photos 3/23-3/25

Spent the weekend wandering. We hit up downtown and the east side Saturday. Sunday a spontaneous trip to Devil's Lake lead to a difficult, yet fun hike that was well worth the views. Got a lot of use out of my Pentax this weekend, so I can't wait to get those developed.

no bake cookies

This is the perfect recipe if you aren't much of a baker.  It requires very little skill and is super easy. It's mostly just measuring and mixing together.

The Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups sugar
 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup butter
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa.

Bring to a boil, and cook for 1 1/2 minutes.

Remove from heat, add to peanut butter, oats, and vanilla.

Stir all ingredients together.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto wax paper.
Let cool until hardened.

Eat and enjoy!

what's meant to be, will always find a way

I've always liked to think that things will happen when they're supposed to. I think that sometimes people want something so bad that they may end up ruining something great and then they get down. I have found that things seem to happen when you least expect them or aren't hoping for that thing to happen. I guess it also makes that something that much better.

It always seems that at times there are multiple paths to take and I find that if you spend all your time thinking about which one to take you miss out on life.  I know that I've made that mistake a few times in my life.  Although you always learn from your mistakes.  So what I got from that was to just live life and go with what you think feels right instead of spending all your time worrying about which path is the right one to take.

I guess by doing this, things will happen as they are supposed to.  And the truth is sometimes it absolutely sucks and other times it's the absolutely greatest thing that has ever happened to you.  I know that sometimes some decisions can be tough, maybe because you may hurt someone in the process, but on the other hand maybe it's just as good of a path for them as it is for you.

What I'm trying to say is just live life and let things happen as they are supposed to.  Do what feels right and everything will fall into place.  It may just take a little longer than you'd like, but let things happen with out worrying, you might find you'll enjoy life as it is.
